For Caregivers
For Caregivers
Caregivers can help create the space, patience, and encouragement that make adaptive practice possible.

Your Role Matters
Caregivers often notice the details others miss: fatigue, heat sensitivity, frustration, discouragement, overexertion, and emotional changes. In adaptive martial arts, that awareness can help create a safer and more encouraging environment.
The goal is not to push someone beyond their limits. The goal is to help them feel respected, capable, and supported while they explore movement, visualization, breathing, or simple routines.
Ask Before Helping
Support is most respectful when it includes consent. Ask what help is wanted before stepping in.
Watch for Fatigue
MS fatigue can appear quickly. Rest breaks are not failure; they are part of smart practice.
Encourage the Process
Celebrate effort, focus, and consistency rather than comparing today with the past.
