Visualization and focus

Breathing and Focus Without Performance Pressure

Breathing is already happening. Practice begins by noticing it, not by turning it into a contest.

Keep It Natural

MA4MS breathing practices avoid forced breath-holding and complicated targets. A visitor may notice three ordinary breaths, soften the shoulders on an exhale, or use one breath before a small movement.

Focus Can Be External

Attention does not have to stay inside the body. It can rest on a sound, a safe visual point, a support surface, or one simple martial arts cue.

Breathing Belongs in Every Position

The Breathing & Focus page applies to standing, seated, wheelchair-based, and bedbound practice. It also works as an entry point when a person is not sure what movement is appropriate.
